Turning natural landscapes in the Caribbean into urban areas or\u00a0farmland\u00a0may increase the risk of people dying from\u00a0floods and storms,\u00a0scientists suggest.\u00a0In a\u00a0study published by\u00a0Scientific Reports\u00a0last month (8 July), researchers from Anguilla\u2019s health ministry and the Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium investigate which factors make the region more prone to deaths related to these disasters.
